Not a baby sling. A fashionable MetroWrap - MetroMamma Fashion HouseBeing a MetroMammaThere are so many things that need your focus once the baby is born.
Many moms fall into
If you have more than one child, just double and triple that, add toddler tantrums, potty-training accidents, and cleaning up messes. Who has time for a shower, much less make-up and clothes that actually match!? It’s important to make time and to place some importance on these things that make YOU feel good. Here are a few simple tips: Make-up: See your local department store make-up artist and come up with a “look” that utilizes a few items and a little time. If you let them know what your morning is like they can usually cater to your needs. Don’t worry about trying new and varied looks. Just get one look that makes you feel fresh and pretty and stick with it until you can take on something more. It should take 10 minutes or less and you’ll be able to do it without thinking. Hair: This seems to be the time when many moms say, “Oh just chop it off!”. Did you know that short hair can actually be higher maintenance than medium or long hair? You can’t even put it in a ponytail when you need to! Ok favorite hairstylist, do your thing! Color…nothing too drastic so you can have longer periods of time between coloring. Cut…something fresh with movement so you can run out the door when necessary, but with a good shape so when you have time you can actually style it (even if it’s only once a month!). Clothing: Transition is the hardest time. Buy a few items that go well with each other and make you feel good. It is much better to have a few pairs of pants/shorts/skirts, and a few tops that are in the “transition” size. Trying to squeeze into your “skinny” jeans will only frustrate you. Don’t worry, you can put them on a hanger for future inspiration. Metro Mind Set: Most important…BE FORGIVING OF YOURSELF when trying to achieve these goals and MAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF. You will be a better mom for your kids and a “MetroMamma” for yourself. |
